Retirement Poems
** On the last day here we'd like to say Well done you! You've made it to the end; You've worked hard all your life And our best wishes send.
Your office already seems pretty empty but We know your hobbies vary and will keep you entertained All very strange for us and a new boss coming But we will miss you and your anecdotes all the same. Maggie-May
** Enjoy every retirement day as if it was your last and one day you will be right about it.
** Retirement is a time to look back with satisfaction, and a time to look ahead with anticipation. A time to fill each day with enjoyment. A very special time for you.
Congratulations
** Half our life is spent trying to find something to do with the time we have rushed through life trying to save. Will Rogers
** Old age is an excellent time for outrage. My goal is to say or do at least one outrageous thing every week. Maggie Kuhn
** Retirement Poems
** Retirement is a time For feeling glad to be alive, A time when friendships blossom And enthusiasms thrive.
A chance to do the special things You always wished you could. Retirement is a special time For knowing...life is good.
Congratulations on your Retirement
** Many people don't know how to stop So they send us to have lessons; We've shown them a thing or to Just who do they think they're messin'!
We've worked and worked and need to find A passion an interest to call our own; Not all are into needlework Although many seeds we've sown.
Travelling is a Gods send It can take up a lot of the day; Sittin on the Metro Going round and round "I say"
Meeting friends and neighbours And shopping in the Toon; We have them round for tea And say " Hope to see you soon."
The grandchildren are a treasure And make us laugh so much; We find them very tiring Those little such and such.
We don't know how we found the time To go to so called work; As we're so busy from dusk to dawn I now have a choice to shirk or not to shirk. Maggie-May
