Christening Poems

**

As you join this family
We love having you around;
Within this new family
You'll find Gods love abound.

Jesus is the one through whom
Your entrance ticket bought;
With his life's sacrifice
His fishing net you've caught.

Fishers of men his disciples were
And that's what you'll become;
Living by Gods high standards
As if you and he were one.

First came love
Then came marriage
Then came (name)
In a baby carriage
Now's the time
To make it all complete
And to hold the Christening
Of this child so sweet

**

We know that as a guardian of you from birth
We need to look after you here on earth;
We'll be held responsible by Him from up above
So we need to make sure we wrap you in Gods Love.

We Christen you .......and we hope you like your name
As it will define you and you don't find it lame;
It's strong and good for boy and a man
If you really don't like it blame your gran.

Christening Poems

**

Godparents and godchildren,
Together they create a chain of love;
Linking the past,
With the future.
The chain may lengthen,
But it will never part.

**

Let me go and see my Godparents
Take me there for awhile.
Mommy and Daddy both need a break,
We'll play games and we'll stay up real late!

Oh, I'd like to thank our Godparents
For all the things that they do.
So it's time to say.......................
"You're the BEST and that I... LOVE.... YOU"..... !

So when it came to picking my name
Just what part did you play;
I can't help but notice you see
We've both got the same name uncle Ray.

**

From Godparents

Thank you for being our Godchild
We'll wrap you in our prayers,
And ask the Lord to keep you
In his gentle loving care.
