Birthday Poems for Grandad

**

For my dear old grandad in his slippers
Reading his newspapers everyday;
I wish you all you would wish yourself
On this very special birthday.

Able to play football I know you'll say
Run around minus aches and pains;
But the WII works wonders for you now
Footies back on the agenda again.
Happy Birthday Grandad!

**

You may complain you're getting older
But the alternative is worse
Eating birthday cake is much preferred
To riding in a hearse

**

Grandad you're very ---- very old
But still look good all the same;
Who care's if your hair's going grey
And you'll suit a zimmer frame.

OK so you fall asleep in the chair
Your snoring's not that bad;
As for the sound you make when you sing
It's nearly the same, grandad.
Happy Birthday Grandad

**

There's no doubt you're a winner
At remote racing cars and sport;
But look at the team of losers
You've chosen to support.

Fair enough you're very good at things
Especially your playstation and your Wii
But not golf, so says the caravan man
He'll keep it secret for a fee;

It's true that you're good looking
Gorgeous some have said;
But does Di Caprio have a baseball cap
Superglued to his head?

You're a chips and cat loving smartie pants
Who's got a funny side;
It's been hard to find good insults
But believe us Gramps, we've tried.

It's time for you to give up Hooch
Now you've become one of the older set
Congratulations, all the bestAnd no we haven't finished yet.

So today you'll try and tell us
That you're only 59 again;
But we don't mind how old you are
Cheers on your birthday and sink the gin!

Birthday Poems for Grandad

**

A new lease of life my Grandad says
That's what you have given me.
I'm not sure about that I say
I reckon it's all that tea.

Cup after cup and all day long
Is what Grandad is all he seems to do;
He says he does gardening and plays golf
I'm not sure about that - are you?
Happy Birthday Grandad

My grandad is a toyboy
Cos Grandma's older he says;
But I don't think that counts
When it's months or even days.

So a Happy Birthday Grandad
You'll be off to the pub again;
So have a good one and one for us
We'll stay in tonight with the bairns.

**

Because you’re very special
We hope your Birthday holds in store
Happy hours that overflow
With all you’re wishing for;
And hope the days that follow it
Make up a year that brings
Everything that you deserve
A million happy things.

**

Golf clubs and jazzy socks
That's what's in store for you;
Your birthdays are hard to get for
You've got everything and all new.

So next year gramps give me a clue
To change the golfing rounds;
I don't know what else to get you
As round the sports shops I pound.
