Friendship knows no age gap
I was adopted you see;
By my best friends mother
After my mother had left me.

My Mum had died and left a gap
That felt more like a chasm;
My new mum filled that gap
Without a doubt filled that abysm

I was in my 40's and she was 65
Our experiences were common though;
Made our friendship come alive
Both widows, mothers,loved bordeaux.

We chatted about everything
Moaned about our lots;
Laughed about them most of all
Over all the snapshots.
