80th Birthday Poems

The Eighties are the new 60's you know!

I want to live my next life backwards: Then you wake up in an old age home feeling better every day.
Then you get kicked out for being too healthy.

Enjoy your retirement and collect your pension.
Then when you start work, you get a gold watch on your
first day.

You get ready for High School: drink alcohol, party, and you're generally promiscuous.

Then you go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, and you have no responsibilities.,br.Then you become a baby, and then . . .
You spend your last 9 months floating peacefully room service on tap, and then...
You finish off as an orgasm.

I rest my case.

Here is the test to find whether your mission on earth
is finished. If you're alive, it isn't.
Richard Bach

Because today's so special
it really wouldn't do,
to send one simple birthday wish
to last the whole year through...
So this wishes happy moments,
a day when dreams come true,
and a year that's filled with all the things
that mean the most to you.

**

Old age: A great sense of calm and freedom. When the
passions have relaxed their hold, you may have escaped,
not from one master but from many.
Plato

**

When asked in his late 80's if his doctor knew he
still smoked, George said, "No ... he's dead."
George Burns

Thanks to modern medical advances such as antibiotics,
nasal spray, and Diet Coke, it has become routine for
people in the civilized world to pass the age of 40,
sometimes more than once.
Dave Barry

**

By the time you're eighty years old you've learned everything. You only have to remember it.
George Burns

**

Every time I think that I'm getting old,
and gradually going to the grave,
something else happens.
